Overview
The Stageboxx checkout is designed to be fast and secure. Customers select their tickets, provide billing details, choose a payment method, and receive their e-tickets immediately after payment. The entire process is optimized for both desktop and mobile.
Behind the scenes, stock reservations ensure tickets are held during checkout so customers never encounter a sold-out surprise at the payment step.
Checkout flow
The checkout process in five steps.
Add to cart
Select tickets from the event page. A stock reservation is created immediately, holding the tickets for 15 minutes while you complete your purchase.
Billing details
Enter your name, email, and billing address. If you have an account, these fields are pre-filled from your profile.
Payment method
Choose how to pay. Available methods include Swish, PayPal, and manual/invoice payment depending on the vendor's configuration.
Confirm order
Review your order summary including tickets, prices, and fees. Confirm and authorize the payment. Stock reservations are committed upon successful payment.
E-tickets delivered
Your e-tickets are generated instantly and sent to your email. You can also access them from your account page at any time. Each ticket includes a scannable QR code.
Payment methods
Swish
Sweden's most popular mobile payment. Pay instantly by opening the Swish app on your phone and confirming the payment. No card details needed.
PayPal
International payment support via PayPal. Log in to your PayPal account to pay securely. Works with credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal balance.
Manual / Invoice
For B2B orders or special arrangements. The vendor manually confirms payment and releases tickets. Commonly used for corporate bookings and group reservations.
Cart & reservations
When you add tickets to your cart, a 15-minute reservation timer starts. This ensures the tickets are held for you while you complete checkout.
- •Timer visible — A countdown timer is displayed during checkout so you know how much time remains
- •Automatic expiry — If you don't complete checkout in time, the reservation expires and tickets are released back for others to buy
- •Stock released — Expired tickets become immediately available again. You can start a new checkout if tickets are still available
Who you are buying from
Before you pay, the checkout names the seller: the organiser's legal name, organisation number and VAT number, and that Stageboxx handles the purchase on the organiser's behalf. The same details are on the receipt, the invoice, any credit note and the refund email. If the organiser has not entered an organisation number, the documents say so.
Buying as a company
A business in another EU country can tick I'm buying as a company and enter its EU VAT number, with the country code, for example DE123456789. The number is checked against the EU VAT register (VIES) while you wait, and stored encrypted.
If the number is valid, the purchase is treated as a business purchase. If it is not registered, or VIES is not answering, you can still buy, but the purchase is treated as a consumer purchase, with VAT.
Waiting for your payment
After paying with Swish or card, the confirmation page says the order has been placed and that the payment is being confirmed. It updates by itself when the payment is complete, and only then are tickets and receipt sent.
Platform fees
Any service fee is shown in the order summary before you confirm the payment. What you see there is what you pay.
Refunds
Refunds can be issued when an event is cancelled or when a vendor approves a customer's refund request.
- •Refund to original method — Refunds are processed back to the customer's original payment method (Swish, PayPal, etc.)
- •Stock restored — When a refund is processed, the ticket stock is automatically released back to the pool
- •Email confirmation — Both the customer and vendor receive email confirmation when a refund is processed
Changing your mind: the right of withdrawal
Most purchases carry a 14-day right of withdrawal. Open the order from My account → Orders. Under Right of withdrawal each item says whether you can withdraw, and until which date.
Bought without an account? Your order confirmation email has a personal link, Withdraw from contract here. It opens the same page for that order, without signing in, and works until the withdrawal period ends. Keep the email: the link is yours alone.
To withdraw, choose Withdraw from contract here on the item, check your name and the email address for the confirmation, and choose Confirm withdrawal. The page shows at once that the withdrawal was received, and we email you a confirmation with the date and time. The seller is told at the same time and refunds you within 14 days, to the payment method you used.
Some purchases have no right of withdrawal, and the order page says why: tickets and sessions on a set date (an event, a course with set dates, a booked time), and an online course you agreed should start at once. A shipped item counts its 14 days from delivery.
For sellers: a withdrawal appears in your organisation's activity log, and the organisation's support email gets a notice with the order, the item and when it was received. The withdrawal is valid as received; you don't approve it. Refund the line from the order within 14 days.
For vendors
- •Transaction visibility — All transactions are visible in the Accounting section of your admin panel, including payment status, fees, and payout amounts.
- •Payout schedule — Earnings from ticket sales are paid out according to the platform's payout schedule. You can view pending and completed payouts in your dashboard. See Settlement Lifecycle for how a settlement moves from draft to paid.
- •Export support — Download transaction data in SIE or CSV format for accounting integration.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if my payment fails?
Your ticket reservation is still held for the remaining time. You can try a different payment method or retry the same one. If the reservation timer runs out before payment succeeds, the tickets are released.
My cart expired — what now?
If your 15-minute reservation expires, the tickets are released back to the pool. Simply go back to the event page and add tickets again. If the event hasn't sold out, you can start a new checkout.
How long does a refund take?
Swish refunds are typically processed within minutes. PayPal refunds may take 1–3 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation when the refund is complete.
Is there a service fee?
If there is one, it is shown in the order summary before you pay.
My EU VAT number was not accepted.
Check that it starts with the country code. If VIES says it is not registered, or is not answering, you can still complete the purchase as a consumer purchase with VAT.
