External Ticketing Import

Connect your Tickster account, bring events into Stageboxx one at a time or in bulk, and keep them in sync.

Overview

If you already sell tickets through Tickster, you don't have to re-create those events by hand. Connect your Tickster account once, then browse everything on it from inside Stageboxx — import a single event, or select several and import them together. Once imported, an event shows up under Linked Events, where you can refresh its stock and status on demand or disconnect it entirely. It's a paid add-on (the External ticketing feature), currently supporting Tickster only.

Key concepts

Provider connection

One Tickster account per organization — an API key plus a selected organizer. Everything you browse and import comes from that one account.

External event vs. linked event

An external event only becomes a real Stageboxx event once you import it. After that, the two stay connected as a link you can refresh or remove.

Series and dates

When Tickster events belong to the same series, importing one and then a sibling offers a choice: add the sibling as another date on the event you already imported, or bring it in as a fully separate event.

Connect, browse, import, reconcile

1

Connect your Tickster account

On the Configuration tab, enter your Tickster API key and save. Stageboxx never shows the key again once it's saved — only that a key is on file.

2

Choose your organizer

Once the key is saved, a search box loads your Tickster organizers. Pick yours and save again to finish the connection — a green "Connected" badge confirms it.

3

Browse your external events

Switch to Browse Events to see everything on that Tickster account — search by name, page through results. Already-imported events are dimmed with an "Imported" badge and can't be re-imported.

4

Import one event

Click Import on a row to preview it — name, date, venue, ticket types, and current stock — before confirming. If the venue doesn't match an existing resource, you can create one on the spot from the same preview.

5

Or import several at once

Check the boxes next to multiple events and use "Import selected" from the bulk action bar. A progress modal reports how many succeeded and which, if any, failed.

6

Reconcile from Linked Events

Every imported event lives here. Sync now refreshes its stock and status from Tickster on demand — it doesn't happen automatically in the background. View external opens the listing on Tickster's site; Unlink removes the connection after a confirmation step.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import the same event twice?

No — once an event is imported it shows an "Imported" badge in Browse Events and its checkbox and Import button are disabled. Look it up under Linked Events instead.

What's the difference between "Add as date" and "Import separately"?

Both only appear when Tickster has already told us this event belongs to the same series as one you've imported. "Add as date" folds the new one into that existing Stageboxx event as another date. "Import separately" brings it in as its own independent event instead.

Do imported events update automatically?

Not on their own — stock and status only refresh when you click Sync now on that event under Linked Events. There's no background polling.

What happens if I unlink an event?

Unlinking removes the connection to Tickster only — the Stageboxx event itself is not deleted. It just stops syncing and no longer shows under Linked Events.

A bulk import partially failed — what now?

The progress modal shows which events succeeded and which failed, with a reason per failure. Successful ones are already imported; go back to Browse Events and retry the failed ones individually.
